This is not a commercial website. Nothing is sold here, no money is generated. I'm a registered nurse, and in my spare time I hope to explore the world of 'Lewis Carroll', otherwise known as Charles Dodgson.

I am not an academic. I am a relative.

My family's relationship is via Charles Dodgson's uncle Hassard Hume Dodgson. My great-grandfather was at Christ Church, Oxford, and his children played with Charles Dodgson in his old age. My grandmother handed down the account of how he would place the sisters (pictured below) on his knees, as if they were having a ride on a horse, and how he would make them laugh. The recollection of the old man was of kindness, fun and delight.

This is a photograph of my grandmother (the baby) and her sisters, who played with Charles Dodgson in his old age:

I want to stress that I am not an expert. But along with one of my brothers I am an enthusiast. What I am hoping is that this website can be a resource, where people can contribute artwork, articles, news, if they like. The domain name for this site was kindly given to me as an act of kindness, because of my family's link with Charles Dodgson.

~~~ COLLABORATION ENCOURAGED ~~~
I should be delighted to collaborate with other 'Alice' devotees, to publicise events, new books, and to provide links to other websites with information on the subject of Lewis Carroll and his works.
In addition, I will try to explore themes and related topics that link to Lewis Carroll's writings.
Hopefully this little site can be of use to schools, and for others like me who are simply enthusiasts. I should be very happy to receive ideas, suggestions, art (from people of any age), news and articles for consideration. I don't promise to publish everything, but I would be delighted to try to upload a good selection.
As a best outcome, this website could become a collaboration, which I think would be more fascinating than simply providing the content all myself.
So let me know if you have something you would like to contribute.
